Here's what you need to know: The Work 1. Lead the design and development of new and existing systems, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders. 2. Set and share best practices across the team, proactively creating standards where needed. 3. Recommend and implement new technologies to meet business goals and optimize systems. 4. Make informed trade-offs between immediate and long-term business needs while guiding technical direction. 5. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, analyzing logs, metrics, and performance data. 6. Review and improve code, system design, and development processes to enhance efficiency. 7. Contribute to team strategy and planning, collaborating on cross-team projects and prototypes. Needed Expertise 1. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Elixir/Phoenix in production environments. 2. 10+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems across various environments. 3. Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices such as CI/CD, 12-factor apps, unit testing, design patterns, and performance optimization. 4. Proven experience in building complex web systems. 5. Experience integrating with third-party systems like Stripe, POS systems, or logistics APIs. 6. Solid understanding of troubleshooting, performance tuning, and debugging practices. 7. Bonus: familiarity with tools like Kubernetes, DataDog, or Honeybadger, or your preferred tools.
