ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking a creative, compassionate, and dedicated Preschool Self-Contained Teacher to join our Early Years team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, understand developmental milestones, and foster a warm, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that inspires curiosity and exploration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework and early childhood best practices. - Foster a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development, independence, and a love for learning. - Integrate play-based, hands-on learning activities across all subject areas (language, math, science, social studies). - Observe and document student development, using formative assessments to support differentiated instruction. - Communicate regularly with families, providing updates on student progress and creating strong school-home partnerships. - Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and support transdisciplinary learning. - Encourage exploration and curiosity through both indoor and outdoor learning experiences. - Model and promote the CIEDI core values in all aspects of classroom life. REQUIREMENTS MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Preschool Education, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience with children aged 3–6. - Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level (C1 preferred). - Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy. - Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills. - Ability to create a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters inquiry. DESIRED BUT NOT EXCLUDING REQUIREMENTS: - Experience working in an IB PYP school. - Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia or other progressive early childhood education approaches. - Experience in inquiry-based learning. - Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
