We are looking for a **Payroll Specialist** to manage all payroll activities and ensure the timely and accurate payment of employee wages. The payroll specialist will ensure the collection of all necessary information and documents, compute wages, investigate and resolve any payroll issues or discrepancies. This position will process payroll for our employees based in the United States and Puerto Rico. To be successful as a payroll specialist you should be able to efficiently coordinate payroll tasks and strictly follow company policies and legal regulations. An outstanding payroll specialist should also possess strong people skills. **Primary Responsibilities** - Audit and review commissions, bonuses, time records, and other relevant payroll documents to ensure integrity and accuracy - Compile and review payroll data such as hours worked, commissions, bonuses, vacations, and sick pay from the time clock and other records; address discrepancies and update data as needed for timely resolution - Ensure backup documentation is made available for corrections, as needed - Work with operations to ensure all hours are entered - Escalate any payroll issues to relevant management for effective resolution - Collect and verifying employee and timekeeping data - Compute wages, deductions, commissions, benefits, etc. - Review computed wages to ensure accuracy - Update payroll information for promotions, transfers, terminations, and new hires - Record and maintain employee records and payroll transactions - Prepare statements reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions - Answer questions and resolve issues regarding payroll - Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws - Prepare payroll reports for management and auditing purposes **Minimum Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 2-5 years of experience or a combination of education and experience - 3-5 years of experience in payroll administration - 2-3 years of experience with SAP - Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and tax laws - Good understanding of common fiscal procedures - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, payroll systems and database software - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Organizational and time management skills - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality - Strong attention to detail - Exceptional mathematical and calculation skills - Bilingual (English and Spanish) - Middle or Strong Knowledge labor law in South Region Preferred **Physical Demands** - Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding a machine. - Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping. - May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs. **CALL US HOME**: **Atento** is an award-winning global CX solutions company who creates amazing experiences for the world’s best brands and their customers.
