Job Title: Virtual Paralegal - Personal Injury Focus The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison for client interactions, ensuring timely and accurate updates in our case management system. They will collect and review essential documents, identify case concerns, and coordinate with attorneys on next steps. Key Responsibilities: - Act as the primary liaison for client interactions, maintaining accurate and timely updates in our case management system, ensuring all case deadlines are met. - Collect essential documents such as police reports, insurance information, and witness statements. Identify and flag any case concerns or red flags, and coordinate with attorneys on next steps. - Obtain and review medical records and billing information. Track treatment progress, identify gaps in care, and follow up with healthcare providers as needed. - Prepare demand letters with supporting documentation. Collaborate with attorneys to execute negotiation strategies and manage related communications. - Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery with precision. Manage electronic court filings and monitor deadlines across various jurisdictions. - Draft and organize discovery requests and responses. Prepare for trial by creating binders, managing exhibit lists, and coordinating timelines using platforms like Dropbox or SharePoint. - Provide guidance to junior staff or interns when needed. Offer input on streamlining processes and enhancing overall efficiency. Requirements: - A professional, quiet environment with a secure, high-speed internet connection is required. - All work must comply with firm confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and data security protocols. - Familiarity with secure file management, cloud-based tools, and shared drives is required. Reporting & Performance Metrics: - Reports directly to CEO. - Progress is tracked via our case management system and other internal systems. - Key performance indicators include client responsiveness, case accuracy, deadline compliance, and quality of demand packages. Tools & Technologies Used: Our case management system, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, RingCentral, e-filing platforms.
