About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 About the Team: The Team: As a Rating Analyst , you’ll be an individual contributor working with Financial Institution issuers. You’ll build strong relationships with your issuers and the team. Under direct management, you’ll analyze routine and some non-routine analytical or business problems, develop industry knowledge, and identify industry risk factors. Responsibilities and Impact: You’ll have significant exposure by partnering with investors and issuers, responding to questions, participating in meetings, and conducting on-site visits with debt issuers in Colombia and Panama. Internally, you’ll prepare materials for BRC Ratings, a publication of S&P Global, and participate in ad hoc projects. Responsibilities: Analyze financial statements of medium-sized and/or complex entities with support from managers and senior analysts. Conduct surveillance of rated debt issues and issuers’ ratings; may act as primary analyst for less complex entities. Understand rating principles, knowledge of S&P Ratings criteria, and contribute to research and development of criteria. Conduct credit analysis using S&P Global’s methodology, Excel, financial models, and financial statement analysis. Maintain a centralized news source, including digital media, for industry monitoring and financial information analysis. Support team in developing, maintaining, and analyzing spreadsheets and databases, including financial data extraction and modeling. What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Postgraduate studies in economics, business, or financial engineering are preferred. At least 3 years of relevant experience in market or credit risk analysis, FP&A, accounting, investment, or related fields. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish. Familiarity with the Colombian market. Detail-oriented and organized.
