Purpose The team: Scotiabank’s Global Network Operations (GNO) team is responsible for operating the bank’s global network 24/7/365. The team monitors, troubleshoots, and implements network changes, providing Levels 1 & 2 support and collaborating with Global Network Engineering (GNE) to resolve complex issues, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and service level agreements. The role: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Network and ABM Operations, you will document, plan, and implement security remediations, monitor services, triage and troubleshoot network alerts/events globally, and execute network changes to prevent or resolve incidents. You may be involved in after-hours change implementations or troubleshooting major incidents during evenings or weekends. Accountabilities Foster a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Resolve complex network issues, achieving a sense of accomplishment daily. Participate in planning and implementing changes to maintain network stability. Collaborate on troubleshooting sessions with other technologists. Implement necessary changes to enhance network security daily. Make routing, switching, and firewall adjustments to optimize the network. Incorporate the bank’s risk appetite and culture into daily activities and decisions. Ensure operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk controls are effective and adhered to, aligning with Scotiabank’s values and policies. Promote a high-performance, inclusive work environment. Education / Experience / Other Information Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal/external partners and vendors. Minimum of 5+ years supporting and operating enterprise-scale network technologies, including: Cisco Routers, Switches, Wi-Fi, Network Authentication Cisco Firewalls/VPN Fortinet Firewalls F5 LTM/GTM Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM Aruba SD/WAN Zscaler Monitoring Systems At least 3+ years of experience with network monitoring tools such as SevOne, AppNeta, ThousandEyes, nGenius, Cisco Prime, or PDAS. At least 2+ years of experience with IT Service Management processes. Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic environments. Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Customer-oriented with rapid learning ability. Post-secondary education in a technology-related field, plus CCNP (R&S).
