Job Description: * DUTIES AND **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Expert in digital imagery processing, geographical information systems (GIS) software, imagery processing software, development of workflows and methods in digital imagery production, quality control, data analysis and metadata structuring, final product dissemination, statistics reporting, mapping and imagery publication within an Integrated Development Environment (IDE). - Train SIMA students in digital imagery processing, analysis, and production, and in GIS and mapping software. - Advise the INL and SIMA managers on current and future technology needed to achieve stated organizational goals and objectives. Advise - Train personnel in Digital Imagery Processing, GIS and Cartography theory and practices. - Assist in the development, preparation, editing, and publication of programs of instruction (POI), training plans, and on-the-job (OJT) preparation related to GIS and imagery analysis. - Advise on GIS methodologies and workflows for SIMA to meet its objectives. - Advise the SIMA on best practices and quality control systems for imagery analysis and production. - Advise the SIMA on GIS industry practices and their implementation to best meet SIMA objectives. - Participate in internal and external workshops, conferences, and expositions as necessary. - Assist in the preparation, editing, and publication of technical reports. **Job Requirements**: **MINIMUM **QUALIFICATIONS** **EDUCATION** University Undergraduate Degree in Cadastral Engineering and/or Geodesy, specializing in Geographic Information Systems. **LANGUAGE **LEVEL**: - Spanish: Level 4 - Fluent - English: N/A **EXPERIENCE**: - 15 years of professional experience, of which at least 10 years have been in the execution of remote sensing, spatial data analysis, and mapping projects. - Extensive training in and use of the ArcGIS Suite, Google Earth, ERDAS IMAGINE, PCI Geometrics, Exelis ENVI, BAE Systems Socet GXP, and/or other GIS and digital imagery processing software. - Experience in the developing, editing, and publishing strategic plans. - At least two years of teaching experience in higher education of GIS, remote sensing, and imagery analysis/production. - Experience in quality control of GIS and digital imagery products. - Experience in analysis related to licit/illicit crop cultivation, legal/illegal mining, deforestation using normalized difference vegetation index (NVDI) principles, and natural disasters, among others. **KNOWLEDGE** OF: * - Extensive knowledge and expertise in remote sensing, GIS, Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) and mapping systems. **SKILLS **IN**: - Work as a member of a team composed various government, civilian, and law enforcement organizations; effectively train and assess personnel with varying levels of experience and expertise in GIS; accurately write technical and informational reports; plan the collection, production, analysis and publication of imagery products based on established procedures; demonstrate excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. **ABILITY **TO**: - Travel to different locations throughout Colombia, including areas with limited GOC security presence or logístical support, in order to collect information related to illicit crops, illegal mining, and deforestation.
