Job Description The Department of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Missouri Columbia campus invites applications for a Teaching Professor position at the Assistant or Associate level. This role will support the educational mission of the department and the Information Technology degree program. We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated faculty member with expertise in programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), and/or cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these areas and a passion for teaching and mentoring students. Ranked teaching professors engage in departmental, college, and university-level activities and have access to professional development opportunities. This is a non-tenure track faculty position. Qualifications The position expects strong interest and commitment to teaching, mentoring, and supporting students at the undergraduate level. Applicants must be able to teach and develop a variety of undergraduate courses in Information Technology. Areas of particular interest include courses in Cyber Security, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering.


Qualifications The position requires at least a Master of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer combined with at least five years industry experience. Candidates will be evaluated on: * Ability to teach and develop courses in Information Technology and related emerging technologies. * Relevant teaching experience at the college level preferred, particularly in areas such as programming, machine learning, AI, and cybersecurity. * Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, R, Java, and machine learning frameworks. * Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, such as network security, ethical hacking, security frameworks. * Ability to engage and motivate students in technical subjects. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
