Engineering Generalist at BSG You've familiarized yourself with the ins-and-outs of game development through professional and/or independent work, and are confident in your understanding of the engineering pipeline. You have a solid programming skillset and are ready to take on more responsibilities and larger projects within your specialization. You may have worn different hats early in your career, but you've narrowed your focus and are eager to harness your experiences to launch your career as an Engineering Generalist. You are collaborative, open-minded, enjoy teamwork, can take direction and feedback, ask questions, and value autonomous work. Qualifications and Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience Fluent in C++ Experience with web standards and technology stacks, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS Expertise with open-source web browser projects such as Chromecast, WebKit, Cobalt, etc. Good debugging and profiling skills Experience with memory management on small embedded systems 2+ years of professional programming experience Ability to create high-performance, robust, maintainable code in a cross-platform environment Evaluate existing technology architectures Extend existing systems to meet ongoing development needs Work with external development partners Adhere to team coding standards and practices Work independently and report to a manager Other relevant duties as assigned Preferred Skills Familiarity with C, C#, HTML, Java, or HLSL/GLSL Experience porting web engines to embedded connected devices such as smart TVs, smart appliances, and media devices Programming experience with runtime on embedded systems using C/C++ in resource-constrained environments Solid understanding of multi-threaded programming Effective communication in team environments Experience with current PC development processes Plus Points Familiarity with engines like Unreal, Unity, Godot, Source, etc. Experience with platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Steam Deck Mobile or native Android development experience A passion for video games and game development Experience with rendering, graphics, or optimization Blind Squirrel Entertainment, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
