What You'll Do As an Analyst – BCG Vantage on our Topic Activation path within BCG's Energy Practice Area you will join a dynamic and fast-growing global team, playing a key role in shaping our position as the leading advisor and thought leader in Latin America—especially Brazil. You will provide deep expertise in the Energy sector (e.g., natural gas, large-scale renewables, O&G;, electricity), working closely with case and proposal teams to deliver high-impact insights, knowledge assets, and expert guidance. Acting as a thought partner to case teams and sector leaders, you will help structure and solve complex challenges. Our role expectations are: - Getting staffed on cases and working from client-site or BCG office for a duration of a couple of months by providing analysis to drive insight into specific client issues - Managing and processing industry analysis requests, and assisting consultants with industry specific problems - Interacting with local teams, using an extensive collection of internal and external information resources to gather, filter, synthesize, package and deliver insights to the Energy Practice Area - Working on content pieces with special focus on Brazil market specific expertise, including industry trends, local and regional competitive landscape, benchmarks, mapping key industry players, amongst others - Supporting the Energy PA in Brazil with content development/synthesis for external engagements (Seat at the table events, newspaper articles, etc.) - Gatekeeping all content developed in the Energy Practice Area in Brazil an organized way, identifying content to be sanitized and published for the wider BCG ecosystem Strong problem solving, networking, influencing communication skills (verbal, written and PowerPoint), prioritization, time management and autonomy/ownership are essential. YOU'RE GOOD AT Work with case (and proposal) teams: - Solving client problems and/or supporting client proposals by compiling data and relevant information and formulating relevant research particularly in the Energy sector in Brazil (e.g., electricity, natural gas, large-scale renewables, O&G;, etc.) - Creating reports on new trends highlighting overall impact on Brazil Energy sector including energy transition, emergent technologies (renewables, storage, hydrogen) and its strategic impact - Understanding of Electricity and Oil & Gas value chains (exploration-production, generation– transmission-distribution) and operation models in Brazil - Identifying key performance indicators for players in the energy ecosystem and analyzing data to generate market insights - Developing solutions and driving new ideas, with limited guidance and often incomplete information - Communicating with case teams and stakeholders, in a credible and confident way - Working collaboratively and effectively in a group dynamic often virtual, proficient in agile ways of working - Being flexible and bringing a curious and creative mindset, open to new things and able to propose innovative ideas - Navigating complexity and ambiguity Work with topic/sector teams: - Owning and driving performance benchmarks for industry and players with guidance of the Energy PA leadership (MDPs and Chief of Staff) - Promoting innovation at BCG by identifying knowledge capture opportunities - Develop best practice material on various Brazil energy topics to be used by teams or shared with clients - Participating in client calls and workshops and eventually co-lead modules leveraging own knowledge, proprietary data assets and deploying specific methodologies What You'll Bring - Master's degree relevant to industrial or another Engineering; other advanced degrees are accepted as well, e.g. Economics or Physics; 1+ year of relevant work experience in Energy preferred - Or bachelor's degree, with strict minimum of 1+ year consulting experience or 2+ years of relevant industry work experience in Energy - Fluency in Portuguese and English required; other languages (Spanish in particular) is a plus - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholder while working in a global collaborative team environment - Proficiency in Excel with deep experience in using large models - Deep knowledge of key energy sector databases in Brazil, including but not limited to auction data, plant technical specs, and load, generation, supply, and demand figures (e.g., ANEEL, ONS, EPE). - Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini. Experience with Python and tools like GitHub Copilot for research, task automation, data processing, and integration with AI APIs is a plus - Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities - Ability to multi-task & operate effectively, independently, proactively & curiously, in a matrix organization in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
