About This Position We are seeking a strategic Human Resources Lead Specialist with demonstrated strong client-centric skills to lead the HR Business Partner team supporting our Regions within the IDB. In this role, you’ll exercise thought leadership in implementing the IDB talent strategy and institutional HR policies, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior executives and functional leaders to proactively address business needs related to HR management issues. In this capacity, you will report to the HRD General Manager and be part of the Human Resources Department (HRD) Leadership Team. HRD is responsible for managing and developing the IDB Group’s human capital. Main functions include overseeing the employee lifecycle, leading the People Strategy implementation, and supporting the IDB’s mission through various programs and methodologies. HRD is committed to delivering human-centered experiences and strategic partnerships with professionals dedicated to improving lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Working with us, you will join a diverse team with expertise in development fields such as climate change, gender and diversity, infrastructure, education, energy, and communications. What you’ll do 1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with IDB Management and functional leaders to develop and implement the talent People Strategy, incorporating an outside-in HR perspective and understanding client expectations. 2. Facilitate strategic conversations with business leaders to identify talent pipeline requirements and develop business-driven workforce and succession plans aligned with their strategies. 3. Co-lead strategic discussions and implement key People Strategy initiatives for the Country Offices, coordinating closely with HRBP Group Heads for Corporate, Operations, and Private sectors. 4. Lead the HR Business Partner team across regions while also serving as the HRBP for your assigned region. 5. Advise leadership using insights from analysis to influence decision-making from a strategic human capital perspective. 6. Partner with the broader HRD team on organizational development, talent and performance management, compensation, employee relations, and workforce planning strategies. 7. Co-lead the annual Talent Review, promotion processes, workforce planning, and advise on performance management issues. 8. Provide feedback on HR policies’ effectiveness and lead workstreams to develop and align policies with business needs. 9. Provide leadership and direction to HRBPs and junior team members, monitoring output quality and goal achievement. What you'll need - Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related fields. - Minimum 10 years of HR management experience in a multinational impact-driven, client-centric environment; at least 2 years in leadership roles. - Deep knowledge of HR programs, systems, and practices, especially talent management. - Innovative mindset with the ability to translate ideas into policies and processes. - Strong business acumen, understanding market trends, and organizational culture. - Ability to align HR strategies with business goals and implement complex processes strategically and operationally. - Excellent interpersonal skills, trust-building, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence. - People management skills including delegation, motivation, coaching, and development. - Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is highly desired. Requirements - Citizenship in one of the IDB’s 48 member countries; assistance with relocation and visas may be provided. - No family members (up to 4th degree of consanguinity or 2nd degree of affinity) working at IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. Contract Details International or national staff contract, initially for 36 months, renewable. The classification depends on staff regulations and Post of Duty Station, currently under review.
