The **Accounting Analyst** will be integral in supporting the accounting operations for a small but exceptionally fast-growing company. Primary responsibilities include accounts receivable and accounts payable for our natural gas sector, daily and monthly general ledger account reconciliations, intercompany and month-end closing activities, and financial reporting and analysis for stand-alone portfolios. As the company continues to grow at a rapid pace, we anticipate that this role will take on new responsibilities as opportunities arise. **Responsibilities**: - Correspond with various natural gas counterparties to reconcile and resolve discrepancies for our wholesale natural gas trades - Perform research and correspond with the internal trade operations team to reconcile trade statements with external counterparties and resolve discrepancies - Ensure compliance with state taxes for certain natural gas activities - Perform assigned accounts receivable and payable processing and data entry - Prepare, reconcile, and remit weekly sales commissions for external channel partners - Perform detailed monthly profit & loss analysis for assigned balance sheet/income statement accounts - Reconcile and monitor cash balances for various accounts and reconcile bank accounts daily - Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance with GAAP and internal reporting standards - Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information - Maintain accounting controls by following existing processes and procedures and recommend revisions when inefficiencies or inaccuracies are identified - Provide backup and assistance to the Accounting Team with financial report preparation, state information and tax reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and any other applicable tasks as needed - Protect the organization’s value by keeping all information confidential - Protect employee and personnel information by keeping all information confidential **Additional Details**: - ** Location**: On-site, Medellín, Colombia - ** Schedule**: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST - ** Type**: Full-time, permanent position **Benefits**: - Competitive compensation - Indefinite-term contract with full benefits - Two hours of English classes per week - Modern offices through WeWork - Professional development opportunities - Collaborative, purpose-driven culture - Work with a fast-growing, sustainability-focused company - 2+ years of accounting or relevant experience - Excellent ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment - Self-starter and ability to work independently without formalized training and supervision - Excellent Excel skills including lookups and complex formulas - Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting & finance - Flexibility and willingness to work closely and learn within a team environment - International accounting and state tax experience is a plus, but not required **Ready to apply?** Send us your resume and take the next step in your career with CarbonBetter.
