Main Purpose: To provide and procure legal servicesacross the entire portfolio of Trafigura’s commercial activities,including the trading of physically and financially settled oil andits by-products, minerals and metals, coal and power, supportingall business areas in different jurisdictions from the Montevideoregional hub, providing corporate, contentious and regulatoryadvice. The position is based in Montevideo, Uruguay. Relocation isrequired and covered by the company. Knowledge Skills andAbilities, Key Responsibilities: Knowledge and Skills: - Legalskills in at least two (2) of the following practice areas:trading, finance, M&A;, corporate, regulatory and litigation. - Legal professional qualification with between 7 – 10 years PQE(+/-1 yr). - English and Spanish language essential. - Portugueselanguage will be a plus. - Positive, self-motivated, committed,pro-active and efficient. - Strong attention to detail and abilityto work independently and as part of a wider team. - Goodcommunications skills to report complex legal issues and provideadvice in a digestible manner. Key Responsibilities: General: - Tobe the point of contact for the provision and procurement of legalassistance. - To actively manage legal risks considering the keyinterest of the company, keeping legal and business managementappraised on a real-time basis. - To instruct, manage and superviseexternal legal resources. Non-contentious: - To advise upon avariety of agreements pertaining to trading, M&A;, finance andprojects including joint venture agreements, sale and/or purchasecontracts, and related documents. - Advising on regulationsrelevant to the business. - Planning, providing and procuringtraining to regional staff on legal issues and on an ad-hoc basis,as part of established training programs. Contentious: - Assistingduring all stages of disputes including advice to manageinvestigation, mediations, arbitration, litigation and enforcement. - Provision of legal assistance on emergency issues.
