**Who You'll Work With**: - You will be based in the Latin America region and will be a part of our Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice, working within our Major Projects team. - McKinsey is the leading advisor on the planning, development, delivery, and operation of infrastructure and real estate assets. Our Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice works with clients in a unique way, bringing together best practices learned while serving the world’s leading companies with deep industry expertise. **What You'll Do**: - You will be responsible for helping governments, project developers, investors and engineering and construction companies to decide what to build and how to build as quickly and cost-efficiently as possible. - You will be responsible for leading McKinsey's contribution in major project client engagement, developing solutions and building capabilities as an impact-orientated problem solver. You will also play a key role in cultivating client relationships and leveraging personal networks that strengthen the pipeline of mega project opportunities as well as developing distinctive knowledge, cutting-edge tools, and techniques that support our major projects service offerings. - Additionally, you will build the firm's external reputation as a leader in major projects, promoting awareness of our major projects expertise by participating in external speaking and publishing forums. **Qualifications**: - Bachelor's degree in a technical program; master's degree preferred - Expertise in one or more of the following project types: metals & mining plants and/or oil & gas projects; EPC projects - Experience in the construction and engineering industry that includes a progressive career trajectory, outstanding professional achievement and impact - Proven track record and hands-on expertise delivering large CapEx projects as project CEO/business unit head or project director - Mastery of operational and project capability: project cost, schedule, contract negotiation, bidding process, change order procedure, engineering (including critical lead times), staff needs and availability, plan of action to correct, while leading multiple projects simultaneously - Demonstrated capability having delivered a major project on time and on budget, and/or experience delivering turn-around situations - Knowledge and expertise delivering continuous improvement programs (e.g., Lean/Six Sigma) is desirable - Critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Broad network of relationships with very senior leaders in industry or public sector - Ability to influence and collaboratively work in teams - Fluency in both Spanish and English language (written and verbal)
