Job Description The Network Engineer role is part of the Technology, Security, Innovation, and Agility team at Amadeus Colombia in Bogotá. This department is responsible for engineering, commissioning, maintaining, and supporting networking components and solutions across Amadeus' global infrastructure. This team is committed to service quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and global standards. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Amadeus' global network infrastructure, including WAN, Internet, Points of Presence (PoPs), and customer-specific solutions. This position combines technical expertise, project coordination, and innovation to help ensure high-performance, secure, and cost-effective network operations. Key Responsibilities: - Design & Implementation: Collaborate in the architecture, design, and deployment of Amadeus' global WAN, Internet, and customer-specific networks. - Technology Research: Contribute to researching, testing, and integrating emerging network technologies and solutions. Provide technical recommendations for improvements and new architectures. - Vendor Collaboration: Participate in evaluating and testing network hardware and service provider solutions. - Standards & Documentation: Help develop and maintain Amadeus' networking standards and solution portfolios. - Performance & Capacity: Analyze performance and conduct capacity planning to ensure reliable and scalable network operations. - Automation: Enhance network automation capabilities using tools such as Ansible to improve operational efficiency. - Scripting: Use Python to develop and maintain scripts that support automation, monitoring, and configuration tasks. - Cost Efficiency: Assist in designing cost-effective network topologies aligned with strategic business goals. - Project Involvement: Lead or support implementation projects, including planning, execution, and coordination. - Support & Collaboration: Provide third-level on-call support on a rotational basis and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.
