At Medbill, we value results and, in return, offer opportunities for professional growth and engaging, challenging work! **Position Summary** The Data Entry Clerk contractor will report to the head of the Billing / Document Review department. This position will have a level of processing responsibility along with some variety as the needs of the department change and grow. **Position Responsibilities** - **Enter patient information into billing system(s)**: Input patient details such as personal information, insurance data, and service details into the relevant systems to ensure accurate billing. - **Organize documents and files**: Sorting, categorizing, and storing digital documents to ensure they are easily accessible and properly filed for future reference - **Verify insurance eligibility and perform Same/Similar checks**: Confirm that the patient’s insurance coverage is valid and that the necessary conditions for reimbursement are met, such as verifying whether the equipment or services requested have been previously provided. - **Assemble and prepare transfer of documents**: Organize and prepare necessary paperwork for transfers between departments or to insurance companies. - **Dispatch orders**: Send out orders for services, equipment, or supplies that are part of the customers workflow - **Create and send CMNs (Certificates of Medical Necessity)**: Prepare and submit CMNs, which are required for insurance reimbursement, ensuring the medical necessity of a treatment or equipment is documented. - **Batch and submit completed orders**: Upon receiving orders from customers, organize them into batches and forward them to the appropriate team within Medbill for further processing or directly submit the claims to the insurance provider in an accurate and timely manner. - **Prioritize end-of-month work**: During month-end closing, prioritize work to ensure all tasks are completed within deadlines. - **Communicate what is being worked with the team**: Maintain open communication with the team to provide updates on progress, share challenges, and make sure everyone is aligned on tasks. **Key Competencies** - Extreme attention to detail - Excellent verbal and written communication - Reading comprehension and critical thinking skills - Organized and independent - Flexible and adaptable - Sense of urgency **Education and Experience** - High School or GED - Computer experience required - Outlook and Microsoft Office a plus **Language**:English **Job Type**: Contract Expected hours: 40 per week **Education**: - High school or equivalent (required) **Language**: - English (required)
