About this position We are seeking a proactive, collaborative and dedicated Accounting Associate to support the financial reporting on the trust funds and benefit programs administered and sponsored by the IDB. This role will be part of the Accounting Policy and Trust Funds Reporting Group in the Accounting Division within the Finance department. The team is responsible for the financial reporting and related internal controls of all donor trust funds resources under the Bank's administration, including the IDB Lab and the Bank-sponsored benefit plans and programs, ensuring compliance with established accounting policies and procedures. Key responsibilities - Maintain and update financial records, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls, including ICFR standards. - Perform monthly and quarterly overall trial balance review and analysis to verify completeness and accuracy of accounting records. - Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports related to trust funds and benefit plans/programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures. - Support trust funds and benefit plans' external audits and compile appropriate documentation for auditor's review. - Support the ICFR framework for trust funds and benefit plans by performing and documenting control procedures and conclusions. - Support SMEs with other activities in trust funds and benefit plans' financial reporting process as needed. - Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, design and develop reporting dashboards and provide insights for decision-making. Requirements • Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Business Administration or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. CPA or Contador Publico Nacional in one of the member countries preferred. • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting in public accounting (preferably Big Four accounting firms), international organizations or financial Institutions. • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable. Additional requirements • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of Colombia. • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab. Contract type and duration National (Local Remote Staff): National staff contract under a fully remote modality, 36 months. This contract is part of a program to hire staff to work fully remotely (not office-based). The program is set to expire at the end of 2028 and may be extended, if successful.
