The Enrollment Marketing team is seeking a skilled and proactive Market Research and Data Analyst to conduct research, development, analysis and implementation of higher education conferral data, workforce outcomes, competitive analysis and strategies to inform development and marketing of higher education program enrollments. This role will ensure internal cross-functional teams and clients are equipped with actionable insights and will also support our higher ed clients as they make crucial program and marketing decisions at their institutions. Primary responsibilities will include: Competitive Analysis and Research: Conducting detailed competitive research to provide insights into market trends, competitor activities, and key differentiators. Leveraging workforce data sources such as Lightcast, IPEDS, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to analyze workforce projections, conferral outcomes, skills demand, and employer hiring trends. Conducting research-based forecasting and analysis to support higher education clients in aligning program offerings with labor market needs and projected outcomes. Program Viability Research: Analyzing enrollment trends, workforce demand, and conferral rates to assess program sustainability. Identifying emerging fields of study and evaluating institutional strengths in relation to market needs and supply and demand. Providing recommendations for program expansion, consolidation, or discontinuation based on research findings. Primary Research: Designing, setting up and deploying online surveys with students, employers, and industry experts. Gathering qualitative insights to complement quantitative data analysis. Synthesizing primary research findings into actionable intelligence for product, marketing, and institutional partners. Audience Segmentation: Developing detailed audience personas based on demographic, behavioral, and psychographic data. Identifying key motivators and barriers influencing decision-making among prospective students and institutional clients. Using segmentation insights to inform marketing strategies and product positioning. Internal Collaboration with Cross-Functional Enrollment Marketing Team: Partnering with the marketing delivery team to provide competitive insights that enhance research, positioning, and content strategies. Contributing to campaigns and initiatives that promote the unique value propositions of client institutions and programs. Client Presentations: Regularly creating presentations and verbally presenting findings and recommendations to institutional clients. Fostering collaboration and alignment across marketing delivery members to enhance final deliverable with input from internal subject matter experts. Actionable Insights and Strategy Development: Translating research into actionable insights to guide marketing delivery team, institutional clients and go-to-market strategies. The Candidate: Required skills/qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in competitive intelligence, product marketing, market research, or related roles, ideally in higher education or agency environment. Hands-on experience with competitive intelligence platforms (Lightcast, EMSI, Burning Glass, SEMRush, NC-Sara, AHRefs, BLS). Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights. Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with strong executive presence and experience addressing clients. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF R C1 level or above. Preferred skills/qualifications: Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, or a related field. UI/UX and SEO experience a plus. Familiarity with higher education and go-to-market strategies is a strong plus.
