We’re backed by AlleyCorp, AWS Startups, Google for Startups, Endeavor, and Tampa Bay Wave. **Scope and Purpose of the Role**: The Business Developer** - High Andean Region** is responsible for leading the commercial presence, brand positioning, and business opportunity generation within the startup ecosystems of Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, and Ecuador, with a focus on early-stage companies (pre-seed, seed, and at most, Series A). This role combines commercial strategy, institutional relationship-building, and a deep understanding of the tech ecosystem dynamics in each country. **Key Responsibilities**: - Develop, consolidate, and manage the local sales ecosystem in the assigned territory. - Identify and manage strategic relationships with: VCs, accelerators, incubators. Startup founders and key operators. Legal, accounting firms, banks, and other ecosystem players. - Actively participate in key events, meetups, dinners, networking spaces, and brand positioning activities. - Spot opportunities to position Lazo as a local reference in legal, tax, and operational matters for startups planning to expand or incorporate in the U.S. - Generate and nurture both inbound opportunities (via their partner network) and outbound efforts. - Operate the full sales pipeline—from lead identification to deal closing. - Execute the partner relationship strategy provided by the Partnerships team. Ecosystem importance and influence. Expected collaboration (leads, brand visibility, sponsorships) Desired conditions (referrals, perks, co-branding). Maintain and grow the current partner portfolio. - Participate in weekly alignment meetings with the Head of Partnerships and Sales team. - Weekly check-ins with the Growth Operations Lead on outbound strategy, templates, and operational support. - Maintain up-to-date use of internal CRM for pipeline visibility and event participation tracking. **Requirements**: - Degree in Law or related fields (e.g., Business Administration, International Relations, Economics). - Minimum 3 years of proven experience in startups, VCs, consulting, or innovation ecosystems. - Previous experience in commercial roles or business development. - Bilingual (Spanish and English); Portuguese is a strong plus. - IA-first mindset. - Well-connected and active in the startup and/or VC ecosystem in the region. - Proactive, charismatic, and highly relationship-driven. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and follow through consistently. - High capacity to identify opportunities, add value, and position the brand in collaborative environments.
