Title: Senior Satcom & RF Engineer Position Overview: This position requires a competent Satcom and RF engineering specialist, consultant, and/or advisor leading the research, design, development, testing, and integration of Satcom & RF systems/architectures involving analogue and digital circuits/products, amplifiers, filters, transceivers, down converters, and antenna systems. Responsibilities: Managing Satcom Engineering projects from concept to delivery of hardware solutions to ensure technical adequacy, meeting customer operational requirements, and conformance with DoD standards and practices. Acting as the primary interface to customers, providing updates, cost estimates, bill of materials (BOM), project schedules, and recommendations on engineering solutions. May provide briefings and technical training on satellite communication (Satcom) systems and products to internal and external teams. Performing research, design, development, testing, and integration of Satcom and RF hardware systems or products based on customer requirements. Working independently and collaboratively with technical personnel in circuit design, including circuit board level design and layout. Requires integration, testing, compilation of engineering data, and final product delivery along with operational documentation for field engineers. Comprehensive analysis, reporting, and systems-level design documentation are essential. May manage the technical performance of support personnel. Requirements: At least 10 years of experience as a Satcom & RF expert in SATCOM, Wi-Fi, LTE, and RF systems. Expertise in satellite link calculations, uplink and downlink, to determine earth station antenna specifications to meet system requirements. Competence in antenna theory as applicable to satellite communications. Expertise in frequency bandwidth/spectrum planning and interference mitigation. Experience in waveguide design and satellite performance measurements & testing. Research and acquisition experience in Satcom & RF hardware. Advanced knowledge in Satcom hardware components packaging, system design, testing, and integration. Troubleshooting skills in satellite component performance analysis. Strong customer interface skills and collaboration experience within the satellite industry. Excellent communication, presentation, and briefing skills. Technical and narrative writing experience is highly desirable. Education: BS degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), preferably MS in EE with a focus on Communications, Satellite Systems Design & Antenna Theory. Alternatively, 15 years of Satcom & RF engineering or applied science work experience in lieu of formal education. Compensation: $122,840 - $187,000 Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph is highly desired. Candidates without active clearance must be able to obtain and maintain one.
