Now, our Platform team is expanding and looking for promising junior systems engineers, passionate for cloud infrastructure, performance, security, automation, and wanting to grow as Site Reliability Engineer in a safe, blame-free environment. We firmly believe in the importance of constantly growing our skills: we run Friday trainings within the team, we learn together every day by pair-programming with colleagues or shadowing them and using the more common E-Learning platforms for different topics. Netquest went cloud-first more than a decade ago, everything runs in cloud environments and even legacy platforms are created and maintained using Infrastructure as Code tooling so your first months will be dedicated to learning how this stuff works and how to operate it. Reliability, security, and performance are important for Site Reliability and Platforms Engineers, we have a training path for these topics too. Occasionally we respond to alerts or run post-mortems in case of incidents. Skills and qualifications Our “unicorn” definition of a junior systems engineer comprehends: - Operational knowledge of Linux and experience with Docker; - Basic Python or Go coding skills; - Basic understanding of distributed systems architectures, cloud technologies and CI/CD pipelines; - Understanding of IT Security topics such as Penetration Testing, XSS, SQLi; - Exposition to monitoring, log aggregation and alerting tools (Elastic/Fluentd/Prometheus); - Willingness to learn new stuff every day. ...bonus points if you’re not that “junior” and: - Are expert, proficient in any of the previous topics; - Have production experience with AWS and or Terraform; - Are fluent in modern day architecture paradigms like microservices and serverless; - Have been working with Kubernetes in production environments; - Understand the benefits of an immutable infrastructure and enjoy enabling self-service deployments through continuous delivery pipelines; - Have been on-call for an internet exposed, production environment.
