Job Summary The Data Center Critical Facilities Supervisor is responsible for maintaining data center infrastructure systems in a mission-critical, high-risk and high-reliability environment. This includes operating, maintaining, and repairing multiple critical and non-critical facility components, including HVAC (heating, cooling, and ventilation) systems, plumbing, fire control and suppression, roofing systems, and exterior grounds. Responsibilities - Supervises Data Center Engineers to ensure that duties are carried out in a timely manner and projects are progressing as expected. - Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching, and development careers plans. - Works with the team to promote the Equinix culture and define the succession plan for the team. - Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigns tasks, and monitors work at frequent intervals. - Assists with testing and coordinating projects and maintenance. - Responsible for KPIs of the Data Center, presenting monthly outcomes, and promoting with the team the goals and accomplishments. - Defines and improves KPI metrics of performance for team members. Site Capacity Management - Overall site capacity supervision. - Permanent contact and coordination with Capacity and Cross-functional team to improve Data Center Capacity. Project/Infrastructure Management - Plans, executes, coordinates, controls, budgets, and implements resources to complete on-time projects and maintenance within the Data Center. - Provides input and guidance towards budget. - Responsible for creating every year the budget for OPEX, CAPEX, and R&M;, ensuring correct execution on time of the budget. - Executes specified routine tasks, meets unit targets typically against a weekly plan. Vendor Management - Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards. - Supervision and control of local and global vendors' contracts to guarantee the correct PMs (Preventive Maintenances) and CMs (Corrective Maintenances) activities. - Works with the procurement team to align and avoid bias with projects and contractors. Testing - Assists with start-up tests, documents, and reports all problems. - Supports the Critical Facilities team during incidents, PMs (Preventive Maintenances), and CMs (Corrective Maintenances) activities as the technical lead of the Data Center. Incident Management - Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident. - Reports on-time incidents related to the infrastructure and customer following Equinix procedures. Qualifications - Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in Data Center or high-availability facilities, with a bachelor's degree in Electricity, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, or related career. - Typically requires financial knowledge and an understanding of budget OPEX, CAPEX, and R&M; concepts and execution, vendors negotiation, and strong abilities as team leadership. - Specialization or additional studies in Leading People Management preferred, and strong communication skills, including cross-cultural communication and negotiation. Language Skills - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (C1)/Spanish, and Portuguese desirable.
