The Team Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses. The Role GBME is searching for Technical Business Analysts who are capable individuals, continuous learners, and eager to boost capabilities of capital markets products and analytics platforms. The successful candidate will have a strong business mindset and technical expertise. You will work closely with business and engineering teams to address BAU gaps and implement market-leading solutions for various projects within GBME. Responsibilities include: Providing support to Global Wholesale Operations users, resolving daily business and technology challenges independently with a sense of urgency. Collaborating with end users to understand needs, perform gap analyses, and assess requirements for effective solutions and process automation. Serving as the business lead in collaboration with technology teams and vendors, ensuring architectures support evolving business needs and align with Scotia IT&S Technology roadmap. Leading the implementation of business solutions for complex projects, ensuring seamless integration across technology domains. Participating in all phases of the IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), acting as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders, providing updates, and proactively managing risks. Skills and Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Extensive experience as a Technical or Business Systems Analyst, including eliciting user needs, conducting requirements analysis, and contributing to the full solution lifecycle. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong collaboration skills, effective in agile, cross-functional teams. Advanced proficiency in Excel or similar tools, with experience in data analysis and reporting. Practical experience with SQL for data querying and analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the financial services sector, especially within capital markets or middle-office operations. Familiarity with reconciliation tools like TLM, DUCO, or BlackLine. Experience supporting production environments for IT systems. Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements. What’s in it for you?
