This software runs on every majorRelease of Ubuntu and is regularly updated on all of them. To beable to do so your team owns continuous integration andverification across releases as well as a matrix of underlyingplatforms. You'll be fully owning the product allowing you toinfluence its evolution and interact with many teams and partnersto coordinate new features, enhancements and integration intovarious platforms. What you'll do - Build and lead a globally distributedteam of engineers - Develop talent through coaching, mentoring,feedback and hands-on career development - Work with ProductManagement to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu and yourteam - Effectively set and manage expectations with otherengineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders -Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices -Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizationalpractices - Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture inline with the company values - Be an active part of the leadershipteam and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation -Participate in strong engineering process through code andarchitectural review - Engage with teams at Canonical, the opensource community and commercial partners - Oversee the quality ofthe Ubuntu Server image family - Plan and deliver Ubuntu Serverfeatures - Work from home with global travel for up to 6 weeks peryear for internal and external events Who you are - You lovedeveloping and growing people and have a strong track record ofdoing it - You are knowledgeable and passionate about softwaredevelopment - You have 3+ years of experience in leading, managing,coaching and mentoring software developers. Experience managingdistributed teams is a plus. - You are focused on success and thedelivery of timely, high quality software - You have experienceworking in an agile development environment - You have a Bachelor'sor equivalent in Computer Science, STEM or similar degree - Youhave strong written and verbal technical communication skills inenglish - you have experience with a modern GNU/Linux distribution,Debian or Ubuntu preferred - Practical experience with at least 1of Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services What weoffer you We consider geographical location, experience, andperformance in shaping compensation worldwide.
