The Senior IT Analyst to become a member of specialist IT MES team involved in the management of deployment of Medtronic’s next generation of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) – from the software company Critical Manufacturing. This role will also be key member of our Global Manufacturing Digital transformation team. This role is remote based in Colombia. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: - Monitor the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to ensure system performance is optimal and to detect any potential issues before they affect production - Address and resolve technical issues with the MES, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining operational continuity - Ensure that the MES is up to date with the latest software updates, patches, and bug fixes to improve performance and security - Ensure that all production data in the MES is accurate, consistent, and secure from unauthorized access or corruption - Support the integration of the MES with other enterprise systems (ERP, SCADA, PLCs) to ensure smooth data flow and efficient manufacturing operations - Provide technical support to MES users, troubleshooting issues and offering training to ensure effective system usage - Identify and implement optimizations to improve MES efficiency, reduce system latency, and enhance overall performance - Helps configure and customize the MES to meet the specific needs of the manufacturing process and business requirements. - Responsible for managing MES backups and executing disaster recovery plans to quickly restore operations after data loss or system failure. - Ensure that the MES complies with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO) and assists with audits when necessary - Provides technical support to MES users, troubleshooting issues and offering training to ensure effective system usage. - Communicates with MES vendors for software updates, technical support, and any required customizations or enhancements. - Identifies and implements optimizations to improve MES efficiency, reduce system latency, and enhance overall performance. - Maintains clear documentation on MES configurations, system changes, troubleshooting steps, and performance reports for future reference and audits. - Ensures that the MES complies with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO) and assists with audits when necessary. - Participates in managing and resolving incidents affecting MES functionality, including tracking issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. - Works closely with production and operations teams to understand system requirements, resolve issues, and enhance the MES to better support manufacturing workflows. - Assesses the system’s current and future needs, planning for scalability and ensuring the MES can handle increased production volumes or additional features without performance degradation. Required Knowledge and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree - Fluent in English - Five years of experience in manufacturing systems management and hands on implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) into manufacturing environments - Expertise in supporting MES platforms (Critical Manufacturing, SAP ME, Siemens Op-Centre, Rockwell FactoryTalk or related) - Experience integrating an MES with other business systems (e.g., ERP, SCADA, PLCs), enabling seamless data flow and process automation across departments - Proficient in managing MES-related databases (SQL, Oracle), ensuring data integrity, performance, and efficient retrieval of production data - Skilled in diagnosing and resolving technical issues that affect the MES, minimizing downtime and maintaining production continuity - Understands key manufacturing processes and workflows, enabling them to align MES configurations with operational requirements and improve efficiency - Knowledgeable in cybersecurity protocols, ensuring the protection of sensitive production data and safeguarding the MES from cyber threats. - Works effectively with MES vendors, coordinating technical support, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) - Continuously monitors the performance of the MES, using tools to identify potential issues or bottlenecks and taking proactive steps to resolve them - Familiar with industry regulations (e.g., FDA, ISO) and ensures the MES meets all compliance standards and undergoes necessary audits - Evaluates the system’s current and future capacity needs, planning for scalability to accommodate growing production demands or new functionalities - Excels in collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as production, engineering, and management, to support MES goals and ensure alignment with business objectives Physical Job Requirements The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.
