Location: Remote(anywhere in Canada/USA/South America, but must be able to work onEST with the Canadian team) Required Start Date: ASAP Required EndDate: 12 months + renewable every year Type: Contract Total HoursApproved Per Role: 40h/week Rate: $65,000 - $68,000 USD/year($88,000 - $93,000 CDN/year) Client Location: US/Canada Summary:Reporting directly to the CTO and managing the Systems department.This is a leadership role responsible for the overall technicalmanagement, operations, ongoing maintenance, and support of ourlarge-scale production websites and networks. Role: 1. Chiefresponsibility over systems and networks. 2. Maintain vendorrelationships, as required, for technical infrastructure of officeand website systems. 3. Work directly with the Development TeamLeads and Project Management in managing projects for the websiteand provide final sign-off/approval for release to production. 4.Working directly with Senior Management, participate in planningand project discussions for various websites. 5. Analyze and assessareas of risk to systems and recommend/implement changes asappropriate to the business. 6. Continuously assess network andsystems security, ensuring a high level of systems data security ismaintained overall. Report concerns directly to the CTO. 7. Performsystems and network architectural design for the sites network,including capacity planning, hardware, infrastructure, softwareintegration, OS, and software performance tuning. 8. Act as singlepoint of escalation of production issues, interfacing with requiredresources to see issues are resolved in a timely manner. 9.Effectively manage risk, including monitoring, system redundancy,and backups based on business requirements and acceptable risk. 10.Supervise, coach, motivate and inspire team members to maintainhealthy group dynamics while maintaining company directives andpolicies. 11. Provide technical assistance and consultation asrequired to all areas of the company, including Project Management,Sales, Quality Assurance, Accounting, Customer Service,Development, and Systems departments. 12. Perform special tasks andprojects company-wide, as assigned by the CTO. Responsibilities: 1.Daily technical supervision of Systems Administration staff ofabout 7 resources. 2. Provide mentoring and technical assistance toSystems Administration staff on a day-to-day basis, as required. 3.Lead as role model behavior consistent with verbal directives. 4.Provide feedback for performance reviews for Technical andDevelopment staff and the various websites. 5. Facilitateproblem-solving and collaboration, ensure discussions and makedecisions that lead toward closure, intervene when necessary to aidthe team in resolving issues. 6. Be part of on-call rotation (12pm8pm EST, 1-week duration every 4 weeks). 7. Other duties asassigned. Job Requirements: 1. 5+ years of experience with LAMP(Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). 2. Minimum of 2+ years ofmanagement/leadership experience in a technology-orientedorganization required. 3. Must be well versed supporting webservers. 4. Strong background with storage SAN (NFS and iSCSI). 5.Well versed with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, andLogstash). 6. Adding/removing nodes, expand clusters, rebuildclusters, use InfluxDB. 7. TCP/IP knowledge BGF and OSPF. 8.Hands-on experience working with Linux in a Systems Administrativerole. 9. Hands-on experience working with Advanced NetworkAdministrative role including routing, switching, and security. 10.Exceptional problem determination and creative problem-solvingskills. 11. Strong written and verbal skills. 12. Strongunderstanding of the software development lifecycle. 13. Strongdocumentation and organizational practices. 14. Extensiveexperience with many of these: 15. MySQL, maintenance, andtroubleshooting. 16. LAN/WAN/VPN setup and troubleshooting. 17.Linux-based and other firewall technology. 18. Cloud technologies(OpenStack, oVirt, RHEV or similar). 19.
