Senior Manager – Credit Assessment Our organization is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead its Credit Risk Assessment function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for effectively managing the function and ensuring high-quality service delivery in line with our policy and procedure. Key Responsibilities: - Review credit proposals and provide recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors for approval or otherwise. - Conduct thorough credit assessments of customer applications in compliance with our credit policies and regulatory requirements. - Review facilities renewal requests to assess their alignment with our set terms and conditions. - Liaise with credit analysts and relationship managers to ensure that credit proposals presented to senior management meet required standards of underwriting and contribute positively to building a quality portfolio. - Evaluate counter-party credit risks associated with our wholesale and retail lending, aiming to grow our asset book within acceptable credit risk parameters. - Monitor covenants and risk triggers on assigned portfolios and conduct periodic reviews to make appropriate recommendations to management to improve and maintain portfolio quality. - Manage credit approvals and reviews. - Prepare and process relevant board papers. - Ensure prompt implementation of all senior management decisions. Required Skills & Qualifications: - A university degree in a relevant field such as Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration. - No less than 5 years' experience in banking. - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is an added advantage.
