What we are looking for: The Cybersecurity Manager Operations lead the tactical operations in alignment with the overall information security and cybersecurity strategy of Cobre, ensuring the planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of both technical and administrative security controls. This includes effective oversight of cybersecurity incident detection and response processes, proactive vulnerability management, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and normative frameworks, as well as coordination of activities carried out by the red team, blue team, and access management functions. The role requires a holistic view of technology risk, enabling the anticipation and mitigation of threats that may compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. Furthermore, it plays a critical role in safeguarding business continuity, strengthening institutional resilience, and ensuring compliance with supervisory authorities’ requirements, as well as with international standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, PCI, NIST, and other frameworks relevant to the financial sector. What would you be doing: Lead the operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring effective detection, analysis, and response to cybersecurity threats. Oversee vulnerability management and coordinate the execution of periodic penetration tests, ensuring timely remediation of critical findings. Coordinate and lead the response to security incidents, ensuring efficient handling of events that may compromise the organization’s security posture. Ensure compliance with information security policies, procedures, and standards as defined by the corporate and regulatory governance framework. Manage cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, WAF, PAM, among others, and coordinate their integration with the organization’s technology architecture. Supervise and strengthen the access management process, including the assignment, modification, and revocation of privileges on critical platforms, based on the principle of least privilege. Ensure the implementation of segregation of duties (SoD) controls and periodic access reviews for sensitive systems, in coordination with business units and compliance functions. Support internal, external, and regulatory audit processes (PCI, SOC2, ISO 27001, SARO, Sarlaft, etc.) related to cybersecurity and access controls. Design, maintain, and report key performance and risk indicators (KPIs/KRIs) that reflect the state of cybersecurity, operational maturity, and technology risk management. Lead the team of security analysts and engineers, promoting their professional development and strengthening the operational capabilities of the area. Promote and oversee the integration of security practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring secure design, code review, threat modeling, and compliance with secure coding standards. What do you need: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fields. Postgraduate studies (specialization or master’s degree) in Information Security, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, or IT Governance. Preferred certifications: Managerial and governance-focused: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, etc. Preferred certifications: Technical and operational-focused: CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CompTIA Security+, GIAC (GSEC, GCIH, GPEN), OSCP. Other relevant certifications depending on the environment: AWS/Azure/GCP Security Specialty, ITIL Foundation (for service management context), and COBIT (for governance alignment). Minimum of 5 years of proven experience leading cybersecurity or information security operations, preferably in regulated environments such as the financial sector. Hands-on experience managing SOC operations, incident response, and threat detection, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams under pressure. Proven track record in vulnerability management, penetration testing coordination, and implementation of remediation plans for high-impact security findings. Experience in access control management, including identity lifecycle governance, privilege provisioning, and implementation of least privilege and SoD (Segregation of Duties) policies. Solid understanding of security challenges in high-volume transactional environments, including payment platforms, core banking systems, APIs, and integrations with third-party financial services. Familiarity with security standards and compliance requirements in payment ecosystems, such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and applicable regulations from financial supervisory authorities (e.g., SFC in Colombia).
