Rob Levine Law are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Database Administrator to join our technology team. Reporting directly to the Executive Team, this critical role is responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our law firm’s software platforms, databases, and data infrastructure — both on-premise and in the cloud. Key Responsibilities - Administer and optimize our legal case management system (Smart Advocate), including document template coding (Word/PDF), automation rules, workflows, and business logic configurations. - Support and help evaluate integrations and migrations involving other legal platforms such as Filevine, CasePeer, and others as needed. - Oversee database platforms (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) across on-premise and cloud-hosted environments (Azure, AWS). - Manage and enhance data analytics platforms such as DOMO, Power BI, and Hona, ensuring business intelligence tools are accurate, actionable, and scalable. - Design and implement database clustering, replication, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to ensure high availability. - Support cloud platform services, including Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Files, Virtual Machines) and AWS (e.g., RDS, EC2, S3) as part of our hybrid infrastructure. - Automate and streamline data pipelines and reporting workflows with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and T-SQL. - Serve as the technical liaison for vendors and software providers to troubleshoot issues and deploy system enhancements. - Support SharePoint Online migrations and cross-platform integrations (e.g., Smart Advocate, QuickBooks, DocuSign, Microsoft 365). - Implement and monitor data privacy and security controls in accordance with HIPAA, PII, and other compliance frameworks. - Contribute to AI and automation initiatives that leverage structured data across our systems to improve workflows and performance insights. - Document system configurations, schemas, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. - 3–5+ years of experience in database administration, legal systems, or enterprise data infrastructure roles. - Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS). - Strong hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including infrastructure setup, monitoring, and cost optimization. - Familiarity with multiple legal case management systems such as Smart Advocate, Filevine, CasePeer, and others. - Hands-on experience with DOMO, Power BI, and Hona or similar analytics/reporting platforms. - Programming/scripting experience in T-SQL, PowerShell, Python, or similar languages. - Understanding of HIPAA, data privacy, and security best practices including Zero Trust, Conditional Access, and encryption. - Comfortable working across Windows Server, Linux, and cloud-hosted environments (Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, etc.). - Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical teams.
