Job summary: Responsible for developing, leading, andexecuting Strategic Sourcing and Procurement strategies. Drivestotal overall procurement cost down while continuously improvingthe company’s purchasing practices, processes, and systems. Managessupply base with significant supplier spend while implementingmeasures to mitigate supply risks. Provides work direction andleadership to procurement teammates in one or more key areas ofoperational strategy, system utilization and optimization,procurement process execution, metrics reporting, regulatorycompliance and audit defense, and training and development. Essential duties: - Contribute to the development of long-rangecreative procurement strategies while designing and aligningprocurement processes and policies within business requirements. -Independently, or collectively, implements procedures and processesin areas of delegated responsibility. - Responsible for minimizingcost and maximizing value in the procurement process by applyingbest / leading practices across area of responsibility, drivingsupplier rationalization strategies, leading supplier negotiations,benchmarking and Make vs. Buy analysis, and other processimprovements; lead and facilitate their implementation. - Providework direction, leadership, and oversight of procurement, andcross-functional teams for assigned projects. - Lead efforts andprovide work direction to the procurement team for SAP systemprocess improvements, standardization, and enhanced utilization. -Lead, mentor, develop, and provide work direction for buyerplanners. - Develop and implement strategies for training to new orenhanced processes. - Lead and provide work direction toprocurement professionals in cost reduction programs and continuousimprovement efforts. - Participate in the RFx process along withother areas of the company to ensure Procurement perspective isrepresented. - Facilitate contract negotiations and liaison withthe Legal department. - Drive supplier rationalization strategiesincluding supplier management processes (scorecards, annualsupplier performance reviews, etc.). - Responsible for ensuringcompliance with policies and programs in alignment with sourcingstrategy; and that appropriate audit trails are embedded inprocurement programs, for internal audit and performance managementpurposes. - Participate in processing of purchase requisitions,purchase orders and other activities to meet business expectationsand requirements as required. - Compile, analyze and drawconclusions from information gathered for planning, developing andevaluating business programs and operations. - Makesrecommendations as to operating policies, goals and objectives. Education: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education andexperience sufficient to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of the job may be considered. Licenses or certifications: - APICS certification or willingness to work towards same. - CPMcertification or willingness to work towards same. - Certifiedprofessional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) certification orwillingness to work towards same. Experience: - Minimum 10 years’experience. - Strong background in manufacturing, ERP Systems,negotiations, contracts make vs. buy analysis, and leadershiptraining. #J-18808-Ljbffr
