Title: SR Drafting Technician Job Description: KBR is seeking a competent individual to work closely with engineers, designers, and mechanical personnel to prepare various manufacturing layout drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, illustrations, three-dimensional models, and other technical documentation. The role requires broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices, engineering mathematics, manufacturing methods, and drafting practices. Responsibilities include developing equipment, accessory fabrication, and assembly drawings within established dimensional and weight limits, interpreting designs, and completing missing details. The technician will complete technical drawings using 2D & 3D CAD software, based on familiarity with equipment construction and functions, electronic circuits, controls, and components. They will handle complex designs and layouts for systems and components, check drawings for compliance, and provide guidance on technical issues. Additional duties involve supporting CAD environment organization, developing and enforcing CAD standards, managing drafting processes, and maintaining document control and CAD tools. Qualifications: Five (5) years of experience in mechanical drawing, CAD, and illustrative design or commercial art. Two (2) years' experience with AutoCAD v14 or later. Two (2) years' experience preparing and revising drawings, schematics, and diagrams. Training in Graphics Arts, Industrial Design, or Engineering Design. Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Two (2) years' experience with Autodesk Inventor 2019 or later. Familiarity with Autodesk Vault software. Compensation: Basic salary ranges from $50,000 to $85,000 for the Maryland area, based on experience and skills. Additional compensation may include bonuses, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, and incentives, per company policy.
