The responsibilities involve negotiating pricing andRFP analysis with customers toward enhancing image andprofitability, implementing and maintaining rate agreements andquoting rates/charges to customers and personnel. Investigate andtake corrective action when there is a dispute of charges by acustomer. Apply applicable contract carrier rates & charges toensure the appropriate charges are approved for payment to contractcarriers and analyze business profitability and providing guidanceto Sales and Operations when developing pricing strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limitedto: - Read and interpret tariffs and rate agreements or rateappendices to effectively assign appropriate charges. - Providepricing quotations to internal and external customers. - Coordinateimplementation of accepted pricing negotiation into customercontract appendices/ rate agreements and into the TMW Suite ratingsystem. - Maintain contract rate appendices for Outside Carriers. -Coordinate implementation of accepted pricing into the TMW Suitesystem for approved Outside Carrier rates. - Approve or DenyOutside Carrier charges and process settlements for payment. -Perform pricing analyses on new or existing business by utilizingthe company’s costing software, including making recommendationsfor changes. - Partner with operations management and fieldpersonnel to analyze key customer requirements, ensuring that allnecessary parameters are identified and communicated, and factoredinto pricing. - Develop and prepare pricing proposals in responseto customer requests, based on detailed analysis ofsolicitation/bid packages. - Preserve a negotiation audit trail ofchanges/adjustments from initial proposal through final rateagreement. - Maintain comprehensive knowledge of companyoperations, customers, products, and equipment; includingoperational characteristics which affect pricing. - Researchclaims, short pays, or balance dues on customer’s accounts to makethe appropriate adjustments as needed. - Provide Credit &Collections; with the needed documentation to collect customer’sdisputed charges. - Coordinate with the Billing Department onaccurate pricing and adjusted charges.
