Hiring Department State Historical Society


Job Description Manage the day-to-day business operations of the State Historical Society of Missouri Manage office activities including responding to email and telephone communications, directing information requests to appropriate departments, procuring supplies, equipment and services, and assisting in general daily business activities. Complete daily financial duties including entering transactions into accounting system, initiating payments, and preparing deposits. Conduct monthly reconciliation of all accounts and credit cards. Assist with time accounting and related human resources functions. Maintain office filing systems including tracking contracts, agreements, and official documents. Participate in SHSMO events and other activities to promote SHSMO. Liaison to the SHSMO Board of Trustees by maintaining communications, scheduling meetings, securing meeting spaces and catering services, and accurately record meeting minutes. Assist Executive Director by coordinating activities and scheduling. Other duties as assigned.


Shift Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm


Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.


Preferred Qualifications Strong organizational and administrative skills are critical, including managing schedules, inventory management, communications, and coordination of activities and events Candidate should have a high attention to detail, customer service skills, can maintain strict confidentiality, and support a strong teamwork ethic. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online. Working knowledge of University of Missouri procurement and accounting systems.
