AST specializes in sourcing, exporting/importing, and distributing commodities to the North, Central, and South American Markets. **Job description**: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods through the supply chain. This role involves coordinating logistics and transportation activities, managing importation processes, maintaining databases, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with the sales team and operations to optimize logistics operations. **Responsibilities**: - Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations - Overseeing the entire supply chain to ensure smooth and efficient operations. - Coordinate daily operations focusing on Colombia, including close follow-up on the importation process, and maintaining direct communication with ports/customers. - Monitor shipment schedules and communicate with warehouse personnel to prioritize incoming and outgoing shipments - Ensuring timely and accurate shipments by coordinating with warehouse teams. - Coordinate pickups and deliveries with port/ warehouses/ customers and transporters to ensure efficient logistics operations. - Managing the logistics of pickups and deliveries to streamline operations. - Resolve logístical issues that may arise during transportation or delivery processes - Generate and manage necessary documentation such as order confirmations for sales, invoices upon dispatch, and port forms for material pickup. - Create weekly operational reports, highlighting overdue invoices and incoming cargo ETA status - Regular reporting on key logistics metrics and statuses. - Implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs, while maintaining high standards of customer service. - Supervise orders and arrange stocking of materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs. - Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers, etc. to achieve mutual satisfaction and communication. - Overview Inventory Control with the port, warehouse, Tally services, etc - Preparation of customs clearance documentation and ensure submitting them on time - Coordinate inspection companies when needed, and handle claims inappropriate manner - Create Order confirmations and follow up on outstanding invoices with client - Follow up on correspondence with credit limit table that payment terms granted correctly to customers **Qualifications**: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics/ International Business. - Minimum 1+ years of experience in operations and logistics, preferably in the steel or construction materials industry. - Experience in managing operations at Barranquilla or Buenaventura ports. - Proficient in English, with skills at B1 or C1 level. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management. - Proficiency in using database and spreadsheet software. - Effective communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
