Our client is seeking Senior Sensor Scientist or Physicist with expertise in sensor geometry, image fusion, and remote sensing to support advanced research and development efforts. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional with a strong foundation in mathematics and sensor/target phenomenology. ***PLEASE NOTE: They are hiring for both Dayton, OH and Columbia, MD*** Responsibilities - Design and implement advanced algorithms for sensor homography, image stitching, and scene reconstruction. - Conduct applied research in remote sensing and multi-sensor data exploitation to support real-world mission objectives. - Develop image processing and computer vision solutions to improve the usability and interpretation of complex data. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate algorithms into scalable tools and operational systems. - Prepare technical documentation, white papers, and briefings for internal stakeholders and external partners. - Offer subject matter expertise to support proposal development and client engagement activities. Qualifications - Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field. - At least 5 years of experience in image analysis, sensor modeling, or remote sensing applications. - In-depth understanding of sensor/target phenomenology and imaging principles. - Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using scientific libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and OpenCV. - Demonstrated ability to create and deploy algorithms in research or mission-focused environments. - Experience with computer vision in real-time or embedded platforms. - Exposure to machine learning methods for sensor or image data analysis. - Familiarity with C++, MATLAB, or high-performance computing frameworks. - Background supporting defense, intelligence, or aerospace-related projects - Needs to hold an ACTIVE TS/SCI\FS POLY
