What you will do The Construction Project Manager is part of our Building Solutions North America business at Johnson Controls. Lead large, complex, multi-million dollar Controls construction projects throughout the U.S. This is a U.S.-based remote position. Will travel to customer sites as required by the project, potentially up to 50% or more at times. Under general direction, responsible for the profitable execution of assigned projects. Works with owner and contractor sales managers and branch installation managers and teams to provide sales support activities early in the TAS and development process, including strategy, vendor/partner selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, and risk assessment. Ensures projects are completed accurately, on time, billed, within budget, and within scope. Maintains positive cash flow and actively pursues selling change orders. Ensures work complies with legal requirements and safety standards, following Johnson Controls procedures and best practices. Balances customer satisfaction with project financial results. How you will do it Act as the primary on-site leader for execution teams, developing and implementing project schedules. Evaluate contractual scope and client directives, pursuing additional work through change orders, cost estimates, proposals, and negotiations. Manage costs, billings, collections, and maintain profitability and cash flow. Review and interpret contract terms and conditions. Analyze financial and schedule data to proactively address issues, using tools like Microsoft Project. Manage risks, establish recovery plans, and resolve disputes efficiently. Negotiate and issue subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and standards. Oversee project construction, materials procurement, and resource allocation. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and expectations. Coordinate with internal teams for resource planning, engineering, and customer concerns. Support project development and customer training efforts. For select projects, collaborate with and direct teams, support sales activities, and manage project scheduling and estimating. What we look for Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience. Minimum of eight years of project management experience in the building construction industry. Experience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS, Fire, and Security systems is preferred. PMI/PMP certification expected within two years of employment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in project management software, MS Office, Adobe, Visio, and Windows environment. Willingness to travel as required, with projects possibly outside the assigned geography. Ability to handle complex projects involving multiple subcontractors and scopes of work. Experience managing multiple challenges across various subjects. #J-18808-Ljbffr
