As a member of Network Infrastructure’s Optical Network Integration team, you will be a part of a team whose objectives are to deliver Integrated systems in an environment where innovation, trust and autonomy are encouraged, each team member works on everchanging projects while exchanging daily with his/her teammates on progress and challenges. **What you will learn and contribute to** We are looking for an Optical Field Engineer. In this job, you will: - Turn-up, provision, configure and test Nokia’s 1830 Optical Photonic Service Switches at Customer sites. - Troubleshoot issues and problems from physical observation and measurement to diagnose and fix the trouble. - Manage individual priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. - Interface with Customers and multiple Internal teams, such as: Program Management, Installation, Engineering, Planning, and Technical Assistance. - Contribute to Integration efforts from planning and organization to execution and delivery to provide working Customer solutions. **Your skills and experience** You have: - Either a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or telecommunication Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience - At least 1 year experience with Optical equipment and architectures - English Proficiency. - Willingness to contribute with creative, out-of-the-box solutions, to problems arising in a dynamic environment, under high market pressure It would be nice if you also had: - Telecom experience Note: Travel - Must be willing and able to travel with little notice, possible night and weekend work. Travel can be up to 30% of time in US and LAT countries. Typically, travel is away from home for up to five workdays/week at a time. On occasion, we ask that engineers stay the weekend and work the following week before going home.
