Purpose Lead and oversees Global Engineering for Operations and Functions : Scotiabank Technology ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Accountabilities stylemargin:top:1.0pt;margin:bottom:1.0pt: : Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. : Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. : Create and implement detailed, comprehensive, and well:structured test plans before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client's needs, while being cost effective. : Monitor debugging process results and define and execute corrective actions. : Track quality assurance metrics and create action plans accordingly. : Stay up to date with new testing tools and strategies. : Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day:to:day activities and decisions. : Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day:to:day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk. : Champions a high:performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. : Fosters a solid working relationship with all members in the QA organization. : Share knowledge and best practices across the organization. : Develop reusable automation scripts that will reduce cost, timelines and improve efficiencies across the organization. : Other duties as assigned. Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role) Must have stylemargin:top:1.0pt;margin:bottom:1.0pt: : A degree in computer science, IT Business/Management or engineering related discipline is desirable. : 3+ years of demonstrable, practical hands:on experience as a Test Automation Engineer or Software developer. : Expertise in SQL, JAVA, Selenium, and other automated testing tools are critical to the automation journey, working cohesively with manual testers and developers to produce nothing short of high:quality work in exciting high:profile projects to put quality products to market. : Proven work experience in software test automation. : Proven work experience in software quality assurance. : Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. : Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases. : Experience with writing simple and complex SQL queries for data validation.
