Job Function Summary The Toolmaker oversees the toolshop, creating documentation and training technicians, managing work orders, and maintaining inventory. They ensure safety compliance, provide PPE, and support the mechanical designer with drawings and CNC programming. They also manage budgets and control payroll, overtime, vacations, and disabilities. Major Areas of Accountability Verify work order processes, control time, and close orders. Delegate work orders to technicians. Ensure workshop measurement equipment is calibrated and in good condition. Manufacture parts using CNC milling, lathe, and grinding machines as per production plans. Support CNC programming with Mastercam if needed. Create drawings for spare parts not available in EPDM or vault. Assess new processes and materials for workshop use. Repair and renovate tools and parts affecting production. Identify root causes of machine/tool failures and develop solutions. Ensure workshop machinery operates properly, troubleshoot failures. Perform scheduled maintenance on tools and machines. Monitor stock levels of fluids, cutting tools, and raw materials. Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste and recycling materials. Maintain schedule for toolroom machinery maintenance. Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities Perform duties following given guidelines. Report difficulties in understanding or following guidelines to management. Highlight system inefficiencies. Take responsibility for safety aspects related to the position. Support a positive EHS culture. Hold a Bachelor's degree or technical degree in precision mechanics from a recognized institution. Have at least 3 years of experience in tool making or material processing. Work independently and responsibly. Possess good problem-solving skills. Have CNC programming knowledge. Experience with surface grinding machines. Knowledge of GD&T. Experience operating a 5-axis CNC milling machine. Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam. Basic English skills (spoken and written). Experience in the medical industry is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proven experience operating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines. Experience with conventional milling and lathe machines. Experience with grinding machines. Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
