In Fortune Brands Innovation, Inc., we are seeking a Should Cost Engineer / Die Casting, Stamping, Heavy Metal to join our team in a highly collaborative and supportive environment. This role will be responsible for should cost model development and enhancement, detailed cost breakdown reports, and VAVE project implementation. The candidate will act as SME for all manufacturing processes required based on component types. The should cost engineer will be a trusted source for component cost and manufacturing process assessment. The candidate should demonstrate advanced skills in Value Engineering tools, component cost structure, and cost management software such as aPriori. She/he needs to accurately perform should cost analysis of FBIN assemblies and components. The results will be extensively used by sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to support cost-effective supplier negotiations. The engineer will support key negotiation activities as required. The should cost engineer will address product cost reduction and cost mitigation opportunities throughout all phases of the FBIN product lifecycle, including NPI and product development. They will perform and guide feasibility studies and technical analyses for should cost projects. Effective reporting of project status, needs, and roadblocks to business leaders is essential to ensure project completion. Job Description Generate and update should cost models for all categories based on current business needs. Utilize deep technical expertise to develop and calibrate should cost models based on essential manufacturing processes and benchmarking data. Establish relationships and work closely with sourcing, design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure assumptions and logic are correctly applied. Design to cost: analyze, assess, and implement cost optimization/avoidance ideas in collaboration with R&D teams. Monitor global commodity impacts to predict deflation/inflation based on material and labor costs in the models. Prepare detailed and customized cost reports. Support other Continuous Improvement initiatives. Qualifications B.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or similar. M.S. in Engineering. 5+ years of experience in design engineering, production, operations, or manufacturing. 3+ years of experience with cost model software, specifically aPriori, and in creating detailed cost models for various manufacturing processes. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, plastic injection, sheet metal, stamping, and assembly. Deep understanding of component cost structures and finance concepts, including labor rates, machine rates, overheads, rejection rates, SG&A, and profit margins. Strong skills in data analysis and management, with high proficiency in MS Excel, Tableau, and Power BI. Ability to create scorecards and dashboards from large, dynamic datasets. #J-18808-Ljbffr
