About The Role We’re seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to oversee cross-functional squads (Back-End, Front-End & QA) from our Bogotá office (Zona Chicó) on a hybrid schedule. You’ll blend hands-on architectural skills with people leadership—guiding engineers, shaping road-maps, and ensuring every release meets Zoe’s standards for quality, security, and speed. You’ll thrive in a rapid-growth, high-ownership culture and excel at turning business goals into predictable, high-impact delivery. Responsibilities - Define quarterly OKRs for the engineering team and track delivery against scope, quality, and SLAs. - Manage engineers, conduct 1:1s, develop growth plans, and facilitate performance management. - Support hiring, conduct structured interviews, and close candidates. - Review high-risk designs and PRs, uphold architecture principles, and promote debt reduction. - Facilitate agile rituals, unblock teams, monitor sprint health, and communicate risks. - Enforce testing, observability, and security standards; lead incident post-mortems. - Coordinate with Product and Design to sequence road-maps and keep stakeholders informed. - Demonstrate Zoe’s values and foster a learning culture. Qualifications - ≥ 3 years as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead managing full-stack squads in a high-growth startup. - 8-10 years building production back-end systems with Laravel/PHP, MySQL, and AWS experience is a plus. - Comfort with architectural trade-offs and migrations without business disruption. - Proficiency in agile, CI/CD, trunk-based development, and metrics-driven improvement. - Experience with test strategies, code quality, and security best practices. - Ability to translate technical details into business terms and negotiate scope. - Network and storytelling skills for talent acquisition; experience scaling teams is a plus.
