**Reporting to** Country Manager Colombia * **Department** Development * **Job Location** Bogotá-Colombia - **Travel Required** Regular travel to Mainstream´s projects within Colombia. Occasional travel to international locations. * **Key Responsibilities and Activities** - Responsible for conducting the process to get grid capacity access approval - Identify locations with grid capacity availability or where there is a high likelihood of capacity being available in the future. - Support the Development team members in the selection of new opportunities: prioritise sites for new wind and solar projects. - Lead and support the elaboration of grid connection studies and keep updated the grid connection strategy documents for each project that clearly sets out the schedule, budget, decisions and technical information required to secure the grid connection - Lead meetings with contractors to perform prefeasibility & connection studies and follow-up the progress and status of their responsibilities. - Lead meetings and negotiate the elaboration and revision of the grid connection agreement - Take part in the meetings with the Transmission and Distribution System Owners and regulatory/policy entities -UPME, CREG, XM, CNO, MINMINAS for Colombia projects. - Lead the interconnection process with the UPME and/or System Owner, from the Application of Interconnection to the Commercial Operation Date (CoD) approval. - Manage UPME and XM requests of information, regarding grid matters, in the development and future operation stage of the projects. - Manage technical information with the companies involved in the Interconnection Process. - Lead and guide both the internal staff and the construction companies with the steps and requirements involved in the interconnection process. - Prepare executive presentations and generate periodic reportability with the progress status of the company's projects. * **Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience** - Degree in engineering with a minimum of 5 years´ experience is required, a degree in electrical engineering is preferred - 3+ years of experience in the area of power generation, transmission and distribution, especially planning the interconnection process of power plants - Knowledge of government policy, legislation, grid code and any other applicable regulation related to connecting renewable generation projects to either the distribution or the transmission grid. - Experience in negotiate the commercial and technical terms of grid connection agreements and any associated bonds and commitments to secure the best possible deal for Mainstream. - Technical and commercial knowledge of the planning and operation of the National Interconnection System-SIN - DIgSILENT experience and knowledge is preferred - Experience managing the grid connection authorization processes with CND/XM, experience with the interconnection of renewable asset is preferred - Good knowledge about the Electricity Market and Renewable Industry. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Ability to work in a team, coordinate and enthuse colleagues and consultants. - Strong initiative, ability to proactively identifying required tasks, attention to details task prioritisation and time management. - Good level of English. - **What’s on Offer?**: - We offer you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation, in a growing market, with the financial capability to meet the demands of a fast paced industry.
