Company Description Job Description The TechnicalService Engineer is a critical role in WireCo’s journey to be thetechnical leader in our industry segments. This position willconnect customer needs with their partners in Product Design,Planning, and Operations. The Technical Service Engineer will leadby example all aspects of the WireCo Business System (WBS),including the Behaviors - teamwork, accountability, self-awareness,noble intent, determination, transparency, and curiosity. Thisposition will be remote (not based at a WireCo facility or office). Domestic and international travel will be required approximately75% of the time. Qualifications - Scope Measures (Specific targetsto be set during goal setting process): - Timely resolution ofcustomer issues, questions, and complaints. - Superior technicalsupport provided to WireCo colleagues, distributors, and end usersthrough on-site visits, engineering reports, failure analyses,field investigations, and training classes or seminars. - TechnicalStrategy: Translate customer requirements, industry standards, andmanufacturing capabilities into product and process design. -Ability to perform failure analysis, determine root cause andappropriate corrective actions, and implement corrective actions,including physical examination of ropes and field equipment,disassembly of ropes, and thorough documentation of findings. -Establish the use of sound engineering standards, data analysispractices, and testing protocols. - Maintain technical expertise onadvancements and innovations in your area of expertise. - EnsureWireCo’s representation on industry boards, councils, standardscommittees, and technical conferences. People - Cultivate andmaintain effective partnerships with stakeholders includingexternal customers, internal customers, original equipmentmanufacturers, and other engineering groups. - Motivate self andothers by initiating actions and effectively communicating projectgoals, requirements, and results to stakeholders. - Spendapproximately 30-40% of time communicating with internalstakeholders, such as Product Management, Product Design &Technical; Service, Operations Management, Sales Management, and theCommercial Excellence teams. - Spend approximately 60-70% of timecommunicating with external stakeholders such as customers anddistributors, acting as a technical authority for WireCo. Knowledgeand Experience - University degree in Engineering or relateddiscipline required; advanced degree preferred. - 5 years ofexperience in relevant engineering roles or 3 years if holding anadvanced degree. - Solid foundation of engineering fundamentalsrelated to the area of study. - English required; multiple languageproficiency is preferred. - Active driver’s license. - Backgroundcheck required for business travel purposes. - Valid passportrequired for business travel purposes.
