With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN). **What you will learn and contribute to** **General Purpose** The Automation Tools Expert/ Software Engineer develops automation tools which support Network Planning and Optimization service delivery. **Main Responsibility Area** - Develops software to automate network monitoring, audit, optimization, and reporting tasks - Interfaces with NPO engineering and customer care teams to identify requirements for new automation tools and to enhance existing tools - Independently performs critical (sometimes escalated) activities to support network optimization market teams. **Position Description** The Software Automation Tools Expert will be required to work independently and with other members of the automation team to deliver automation solutions to support the network optimization market teams. - Requirements analysis and software design - Implementation of new automation tools and enhancements to existing software tools - Implementation of new RAN features, and tuning of RAN database parameters - Tool issue investigation, troubleshooting, and debugging - Interfaces with customers to provide network design and performance related services, according to the solutions portfolio - Performs design and performance activities in customer projects independently, according to project plan and in project managers guidance - Provides support to clients and/or customers (typically on-site) in his field of expertise - Operates in compliance with the processes, methods and tools linked to the job and possesses service excellence awareness **Your skills and experience** - A minimum of 4-5 years work experience in software development/engineering projects - High proficiency in Python language programming (Basic & Advanced) - Proficiency in web-based development (HTML, Javascript, Flask Python Microframework) - Proficiency in Linux bash scripting; Windows batch scripting - Experience in interfacing python tools with relational databases - Atleast 2 of these (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgress) - Experience with software configuration management tools: git (preferred); Rational Clear Case or SVN-Subversion - Project experience in Microsoft Office tools automation (Excel/VBA, Outlook, ODBC) - Good knowledge of LTE network architecture, and network optimization - Result oriented with focus on product quality and customer satisfaction - Team player, open communication and ability to work in international team - Excellent Communication skills **Education & Experience or Other Requirements**: BS or MS in Computer Science, Programming Telecommunication - LTE/5G Technology experience is a plus **What we offer** Nokia offers flexible and hybrid working schemes, continuous learning opportunities, well-being programs to support you mentally and physically, opportunities to join and get supported by employee resource groups, mentoring programs and highly diverse teams with an inclusive culture where people thrive and are empowered. **Nokia is committed to inclusion and is an equal opportunity employer** Nokia has received the following recognitions for its commitment to inclusion & equality: - One of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere - Gender-Equality Index by Bloomberg - Workplace Pride Global Benchmark - LGBT+ equality & best place to work by HRC Foundation At Nokia, we act inclusively and respect the uniqueness of people.
