Job Summary: We’re looking for a hands-on Construction Manager with a strong background in electrical or controls installation to lead the execution of Building Management System (BMS) work on a mission-critical data center project. This role is best suited for someone who has prior construction experience in the mission-critical market, and is ready to step into a leadership role managing subcontractors, installation quality, and field productivity—not someone focused on commercial paperwork or contract management. As Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all fieldwork is installed safely, correctly, and on schedule. You’ll coordinate directly with subcontractors, troubleshoot field issues, walk down installations, and partner closely with our commissioning and engineering teams to drive results. This is a boots-on-the-ground role with real impact. We’re looking for someone who knows how to get things done in the field—someone who takes pride in doing it right the first time and leads by example. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science; Engineering or other pertinent curriculum OR relevant technical experience. Typically, 10+ years total experience with at least 5+ years as a construction manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Excellent field experience and understands the roles of associated trades. Shows initiative by seeking out new responsibilities. Builds relationships with customers and contractors. Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and Office tools. Demonstrate the ability to assist other project members during system installation and commissioning. Possess and apply strong hands-on mechanical capabilities. Understands control system design and how it interfaces with other systems. Understands electrical and mechanical system design and how decisions can impact process and safety. Practice procedures outlined in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) daily. Demonstrate the ability to proof-read all project related documentation. Consistently champions safety policies in the office and the field. Has an open mind, especially with opposing viewpoints. Adapts to changing demands of the situation. Understands and enforces quality requirements on subcontractors. Construction Management Responsibilities: Lead day-to-day onsite execution of BMS and low-voltage electrical installations, ensuring work is performed safely, correctly, and on schedule. Serve as the primary field contact for subcontractors—providing clear direction, verifying installation quality, and holding teams accountable to scope and schedule. Walk installations regularly to identify risks, resolve issues in real time, and ensure alignment with design intent and installation standards. Maintain strong, proactive communication with field teams, commissioning leads, and trade partners to drive progress and avoid delays. Coordinate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure the scope of work is understood, trackable, and delivered as expected. Identify field issues that fall outside of scope and collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve quickly and effectively. Support schedule development and sequencing of field activities to maximize productivity and minimize rework. Create and manage daily/weekly work plans in coordination with subcontractors, ensuring proper manpower and task readiness. Participate in the development and review of subcontractor scopes of work, and oversee their execution in the field. Promote and enforce a safety-first mindset across all onsite work activities. Foster a collaborative, high-performance field culture—coaching field crews, setting clear expectations, and ensuring alignment with project goals. Supervisory Responsibilities: Where applicable, directs and oversees junior or subordinate staff members regarding construction, operations, and/or maintenance tasks and assignments at a project site. Additional Information: This is a full-time onsite role at one of our mission-critical datacenter projects. For the right candidate, we offer a generous monthly living allowance stipend (up to $5,000/month) to support short-term or temporary relocation . Candidates open to permanent relocation may be eligible for additional support, including relocation assistance and onboarding resources to ease the transition.
