About The Role As a Merchant Risk Strategist you will be responsible for managing the financial policies of the organization in the short and mid-term, considering the financial, accounting, economic, and regulatory factors that influence the business. Your primary objective will be to ensure the appropriate level of profitability and maximize shareholder value. You will monitor and control the organization's budget, build financial models, and create indicators to assess the profitability of various business initiatives. What You Will Do Design, control, and monitor financial policies to ensure the achievement of business objectives. Supervise and control processes for managing financial resources, ensuring alignment with corporate goals. Implement controls to monitor key financial KPIs and ensure they align with organizational targets. Develop financial models to support decision-making for ongoing initiatives and new business ventures, focusing on profitability. Coordinate, prepare, and present financial figures to the Board of Directors and Shareholders. Review and ensure the accuracy and reasonableness of financial data presented in company financial statements. Prepare financial projections and track deviations, identifying causes and proposing corrective actions. Prepare and manage the company’s budget, ensuring optimal allocation of financial resources. Forecast economic resources required by the company, ensuring compliance with budgetary approvals and optimizing profitability. Monitor and explain budget deviations, offering initiatives for corrective measures. Track income, expenditure, and general budget compliance under the framework of regulations, tax, and accounting laws. Analyze the competitiveness of business lines, particularly regarding market rate structures. Supervise the execution of third-party service contracts, ensuring adherence to service agreements and contractual rates. Engage with regulatory bodies, such as Statutory Auditors, Financial Superintendence of Colombia, Internal and External Audit, UGPP, and DIAN, to ensure financial and accounting compliance. What You Need To Succeed Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field, with a specialization or master’s degree in Finance or Financial Management. 4 to 6 years of experience leading financial areas, specifically FP&A, with expertise in financial, accounting, and tax processes. Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbally. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization. Practical knowledge of programming languages such as Python and Visual Basic (VBA), particularly for automating financial analyses and improving reporting processes.
